Children from toddlers up to Plus Two participate in these one-day conventions. To make the sessions meaningful and age-appropriate, they are divided into three groups, with separate services held at the same time for each group. These retreats are filled with lively praise and worship, interactive catechesis, teachings based on the Holy Sacraments, and opportunities for confession and Eucharistic adoration. The sessions are designed in a child-friendly manner, helping them to grow in holiness, obedience, and love for the Church. Spiritual counselling is also provided, ensuring that every child receives guidance suited to their age and spiritual journey.
Through these ministries, Sehion Retreat Centre seeks to plant the seeds of faith in young hearts, trusting that as they grow, they will continue to remain strong disciples of Christ and witnesses of His love in the world.
“Train children in the right way, and when they are old, they will not stray.” (Proverbs 22:6)
Sehion Retreat Centre gives special attention to the spiritual growth of children, nurturing them to grow in faith and love of Jesus from their early years. Recognizing that childhood is the foundation of Christian life, the centre organizes retreats and spiritual gatherings that help children to experience God’s love and to walk joyfully in His ways.
Special retreats for children are conducted during vacation periods, offering them an opportunity to spend their holidays in prayer, learning, and fellowship. In addition, one-day retreats are arranged regularly to strengthen their spiritual formation. Every second Saturday of the month, a special one-day retreat is held exclusively for children, led by Rev. Fr. Soji Olikkal, Director of Sehion Retreat Centre, and Rev. Fr. Christo Thekkaneth, Assistant Director. The retreat begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 2:30 p.m. Children from other districts also join on this day, making it a vibrant and blessed gathering.
