To support this growing mission, the Sehion Meditation Centre was established on 1st May 2007 at Sanjo Tower, Palakkad, with Rev. Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil appointed as the first Director. On 17th August 2007, Sehion Television Ministries was officially registered as a trust (No. 554/4/2007) at the Palakkad Registrar’s Office. The first trustees included Mar Jacob Manathodath, Rev. Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil, and Rev. Fr. Rene Pullukalail. From that time onward, the ministry began airing programs on several local channels, steadily building its media presence.
On 14th March 2009, the program “El Shaddai” began airing on Divine TV, followed by “Rapha Yahovah”, broadcast on ACV from 30th November 2009, and later on Jeevan TV from 12th October 2011. A major milestone came when Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, the Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church, visited Sehion on 13th and 14th November 2011, and inaugurated the web media live service, making spiritual programs available online 24/7.
The ministry expanded further with the launch of Sehion Web Radio on 2nd October 2012, enabling listeners to receive the Word of God anytime, anywhere. On 28th April 2013, Sehion Television Ministries embraced mobile technology with the launch of the Sehion Mobile Application, making programs and spiritual services accessible through smartphones.
Through the initiative called Ebenezer Creations, the ministry began producing short films, documentaries, song albums, telefilms, and DVDs, as well as publishing the book series Mysterious Manna. These efforts have made it possible for the faithful to learn about saints, spiritual teachings, and values in a creative and engaging way.
The main mission of Sehion Television Ministries has always been evangelization through television and new media. Today, by God’s grace, millions of people encounter Jesus through its programs and receive spiritual blessings in their lives. On 3rd February 2023, the operations of Sehion Television Ministries were transferred to Sehion Zion, continuing its mission with renewed energy and vision.
Priests who have served the ministry ::
The ministry has been guided by several dedicated priests. Rev. Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil served as the first Director from 17th December 2004 to 24th June 2022. He was succeeded by Rev. Fr. Jose Alakkannel, who led the ministry from 24th June 2022 to 23rd February 2023. The current Director, Rev. Fr. Soji Olikkal, has been serving since 23rd February 2023. Supporting them, Rev. Fr. Antony Nedumpurath has served as the Joint Director since 1st September 2010, contributing significantly to the growth and success of the ministry.
At Sehion, Thavalam, on 17th December 2004, Sehion Television Ministries was inaugurated by Mar Jacob Manathodath, the Bishop of Palakkad Diocese, Kerala, India. With a mission to spread the Word of God through modern media, the ministry began telecasting spiritual programs to reach people across Kerala and abroad.
The first program, “Abhishekagni”, led by Rev. Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil, was broadcast on Shalom TV on 3rd April 2005. Since then, the program has continued to touch countless lives, providing spiritual guidance and inspiration. On 28th April 2007, the program “Maranatha” was introduced on Jeevan TV, further expanding the reach of Sehion Television Ministries.
