The First Friday Convention held in March 2026 at Sehion Retreat Centre in Attappady, Palakkad, Kerala, was a spiritually enriching event marked by fervent worship, prayer, and biblical teachings. This convention is part of a series of monthly one-day Bible conventions organized at Sehion Retreat Centre, known for its vibrant spiritual atmosphere and dedication to spreading the Word of God under the leadership of Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil, the founder-director of Sehion.
Sehion Retreat Centre, established in 1998 and operating under the patronage of Mar Jacob Manathodath, Bishop of Palakkad Diocese, draws people from various parts of India and abroad. The First Friday Convention is particularly special as it gathers pilgrims and devotees for intensive prayer, worship, intercession, and the Holy Communion ceremony, which are led by dedicated priests including Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil himself.
The March 2026 convention continued this tradition, offering a powerful platform for spiritual renewal where participants engaged in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, scriptural reflections, and communal prayers. The ministries at Sehion, supported by a committed team, have grown to encompass twelve active branches, all contributing to the spread of the Gospel effectively through such events.
This event not only serves as a retreat for personal spiritual growth but also fosters community among the faithful in Attappady and beyond, strengthening their faith and providing blessings through various prayer ministrations, counseling, and healing sessions available during the conventions. The First Friday Conventions are thus a vital part of Sehion’s mission to empower Christians in their walk with God, continuing to be a beacon of hope and faith in the region.
